Every dog has a story—some begin with love, while others begin with hardship, neglect, or abandonment. At our Arizona-based dog rescue, we exist for the ones still waiting for their second chance.
We are a dedicated nonprofit dog rescue committed to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming vulnerable dogs in need. With 501(c)(3) status pending, our mission is rooted in compassion, responsible rescue practices, and the belief that every dog deserves a safe, loving home.
Through comprehensive dog rescue services—including intake, medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption—we step in when dogs have nowhere else to turn. Whether a dog needs urgent veterinary treatment, behavioral support, or time to heal in a safe environment, we provide individualized care to help them recover, rebuild trust, and prepare for adoption into permanent homes.
Our work is primarily funded by profits from Peace Trail Resale, a community-driven store and online resale shop that supports animal rescue efforts. In addition, we gratefully accept donations of dog food, supplies, and other essential items, allowing us to continue providing high-quality care for every dog we rescue.
As a growing animal rescue organization serving Arizona and beyond, we rely on the support of donors, adopters, and advocates who believe in giving dogs a second chance. Every contribution—whether financial or in-kind—directly supports rescue operations, veterinary expenses, daily care, and successful dog adoptions.

The Heart Behind the Rescue (and the Store)
Kimberly Petrea
Kimberly Petrea is the founder of Crazy Dog Ranch Rescue, a grassroots animal rescue serving the rural communities of Salome and Wenden, Arizona. Her journey into rescue began in 2023 after she and her team saved three abandoned puppies found near a local highway. Just weeks later, two more pups were rescued, revealing a much larger need in the area.
As the number of animals in their care grew, so did the challenges—veterinary costs, food, and shelter quickly added up. Determined to continue their mission, Kimberly found a creative solution: she launched Peace Trail Resale to help fund the rescue.
Today, Crazy Dog Ranch Rescue is built on compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to giving animals a second chance. Through her work, Kimberly has created a lifeline for dogs in need while building a supportive network within her community—proving that even small beginnings can lead to meaningful impact.
